Job Description
Brar Brothers Farming is seeking dedicated and hardworking Farm Workers to join our agricultural team in Kelowna, British Columbia. This is a full-time permanent position offering $17.85 per hour with LMIA support available for qualified international candidates.
As a Farm Worker, you will perform a variety of essential tasks including planting, cultivating, pruning, harvesting, and maintaining fruit crops in our orchards. You will work alongside experienced team members and supervisors who will provide comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure your success and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, irrigate, and harvest fruit crops including cherries, peaches, and apples
- Perform hand harvesting of fruits using proper techniques to ensure quality and minimize damage
- Prune trees, vines, and bushes to improve growth and fruit production
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides under supervision following safety protocols
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, and irrigation equipment as directed
- Clean and maintain farm buildings, storage areas, equipment, and irrigation systems
- Sort, grade, and pack harvested produce according to quality standards
- Load and unload crates, supplies, and farm produce using proper lifting techniques
- Monitor crop health and report signs of disease, pests, or poor growth to supervisors
- Perform general maintenance including fence repair, weed control, and drainage management
- Follow all farm safety, bio-security, and food safety procedures at all times
- Complete daily work logs and production records as required by farm management
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- No formal education required — will train suitable candidates
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold
- Basic English language skills to understand safety instructions and communicate with team members
- Ability to work early mornings and occasional weekends during peak harvest season
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada OR willingness to apply through LMIA/TFWP for international candidates
Preferred
- Previous experience in fruit picking, orchard work, or general farm labour
- Familiarity with agricultural machinery operation and basic maintenance
- Knowledge of fruit cultivation practices specific to the Okanagan Valley
- Experience working at heights (ladder work for tree harvesting)
- First Aid certification

The farm operates multiple orchard blocks within the Kelowna area, and workers may be required to travel between sites within a 10-kilometre radius. Work Environment: Outdoor orchard settings with exposure to sun, wind, and varying temperatures. Physical proximity to trees, ladders, and farm machinery. Some tasks require working at heights up to 12 feet.
