Job Description
As a Farm Worker specializing in hog care, you will be responsible for the daily management and care of our hog populations. This role requires physical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to animal welfare. You will work as part of a professional team in a state-of-the-art farming facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Animal Care: Provide daily feeding, watering, and health monitoring for hog populations across multiple facilities
- Facility Maintenance: Clean pens, manage waste systems, and maintain sanitary conditions to meet animal welfare and biosecurity standards
- Health Observation: Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns to supervisory staff immediately
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of animal health, feed consumption, and facility maintenance activities
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain farm equipment including feeding systems, ventilation controls, and cleaning equipment
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure workplace safety for yourself and colleagues

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of documented experience in farm work or livestock management
- Licensing: Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5 or higher)
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, work in variable weather conditions, and perform repetitive tasks
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with farm equipment and basic computer skills for record keeping
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of farm safety protocols and animal handling best practices
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to work effectively with team members
- Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality; willingness to work early mornings and flexible schedules
