Job Description

As a Shift Supervisor at Pursuit Collection, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring seamless daily operations across our world-class attractions, hotels, and hospitality venues in the Canadian Rockies. You will supervise frontline team members, maintain exceptional service standards, and ensure every guest interaction creates a lasting memory.

Whether you are overseeing operations at the Banff Gondola, coordinating teams at the Columbia Icefield, or managing shifts at a Jasper hotel property, you will be at the heart of one of Canada’s most celebrated tourism experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Supervise and coordinate daily shift operations across assigned departments (attractions, lodging, food & beverage, or retail)
• Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and service standards
• Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and manage staffing levels to meet operational demands
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-shift debriefs to maintain team alignment

Guest Experience Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, concerns, and escalations during your shift
• Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences
• Uphold Pursuit Collection’s commitment to creating “Mountains of Memories” for every visitor
• Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and implement improvements where needed

Team Development & Coaching

• Train, mentor, and motivate frontline staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service
• Provide real-time feedback and coaching to team members
• Assist with performance evaluations and identify growth opportunities for team members
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across all operations
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
• Respond to emergencies and incidents according to established protocols
• Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation

Administrative Duties

• Manage cash handling, POS systems, and daily financial reconciliations
• Prepare shift reports, inventory logs, and operational documentation
• Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing needs, equipment issues, and operational challenges
• Support recruitment and onboarding processes for new team members

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in hospitality, tourism, or business management is an asset
• 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, or food & beverage
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; additional languages are an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
• Valid work authorization for Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or valid work permit holders)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in attractions, hotels, or resort operations
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Knowledge of Alberta OHS regulations and food safety standards
• Previous experience in seasonal tourism operations
• Familiarity with Banff National Park or Jasper National Park environments
