Job Description

Vermeulen Farms Limited is hiring a knowledgeable and dependable Farm Supervisor to oversee daily agricultural operations in Kingsport, Nova Scotia. This role focuses on supervising farm workers, coordinating production activities, and ensuring that farm operations run efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards.

This position is open to Canadian residents and foreign workers who are legally eligible to work in Canada. Employer support for a work permit or LMIA may be considered for qualified foreign applicants, subject to Canadian immigration regulations and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate daily farm activities and staff
2. Plan work schedules and assign tasks to farm workers
3. Monitor crop or livestock operations to ensure productivity and quality
4. Ensure compliance with farm safety, hygiene, and environmental standards
5. Maintain production records and operational reports
6. Train and guide workers on proper farm procedures
7. Identify and report operational issues or equipment needs

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in farming or agricultural supervision
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Knowledge of farm production practices and safety standards
• Ability to work in a rural and outdoor environment
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer or record-keeping skills are an asset
• English communication skills required

Salary

• Hourly wage: CAD $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
  (Final compensation depends on experience, responsibilities, and hours worked)
