Job Description
Highline Mushrooms is seeking an experienced and reliable Harvest Supervisor to oversee daily harvesting operations at its Abbotsford facility. This role involves managing a team of harvest workers, ensuring crop quality, and maintaining efficiency throughout the harvesting process. The position is ideal for individuals with leadership skills, experience in agricultural production, and a commitment to food safety and workplace standards.
The opportunity is open to Canadian residents and foreign nationals who are legally eligible to work in Canada. Employer support for a work permit may be considered for qualified foreign workers in compliance with Canadian immigration regulations and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate harvest workers to ensure timely and efficient crop collection
- Monitor crop quality and ensure proper handling to meet company standards
- Train and guide team members on harvesting techniques and safety protocols
- Maintain records of harvested quantities and workforce activities
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
- Assist in scheduling shifts and organizing labor resources for peak production periods
- Report operational issues, equipment needs, or crop concerns to management
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in agricultural production or farm supervision
- Leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of harvesting procedures and food safety standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Physically able to assist with hands-on farm work when needed
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Basic English communication skills required; additional languages an asset
Salary (Per Hour)
CAD $20.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and responsibilities, in accordance with British Columbia employment standards
