Job Description

Holiday Inn Canada is seeking experienced and passionate Restaurant Managers to lead food and beverage operations across our extensive network of Canadian properties. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for creating memorable dining experiences that keep guests returning while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Operations and Service Excellence

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations including breakfast service, lunch, dinner, room service, and banquet catering
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest service aligned with Holiday Inn brand standards
  • Monitor service quality by observing guest interactions and gathering feedback
  • Manage restaurant reservations, seating arrangements, and special event coordination
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all meal periods

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise restaurant staff including servers, hosts, bartenders
  • Create and manage staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage while controlling labor costs
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Support development of future leaders through mentorship

Financial Management and Cost Control

  • Manage profit and loss statements, budgets, and cost controls
  • Monitor sales trends and implement strategies to maximize revenue
  • Control inventory levels and minimize waste
  • Develop promotional strategies and menu engineering decisions

Food Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal food safety regulations
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections
  • Manage alcohol service compliance including Smart Serve certification
  • Ensure workplace safety standards are maintained

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years progressive experience in restaurant or food and beverage management
  • Proven track record managing P&L statements and achieving financial targets
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience hiring and developing teams
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French bilingualism is an asset
  • Valid Smart Serve certification
  • Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
