As a Personal Care Attendant – Medical, you will play a crucial role in providing essential care and assistance to our residents. You will be responsible for ensuring there comfort, safety, and well-being on a daily basis. Your main duties will include assisting with personal hygiene tasks, administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
2. Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
3. Monitor residents’ vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff
4. Assist with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment
5. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
6. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
7. Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents
8. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to develop personalized care plans
9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
10. Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere within the care home

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Personal Care Attendant or similar role is preferred but not required (training will be provided)
• A valid work permit for Canada is mandatory
• Certification in First Aid/CPR is an asset
• A compassionate nature with the ability to provide empathetic care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy objects or individuals if required
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the needs of the care home
