We offer Visa Sponsorship for eligible candidates! As a Mushroom Farm Worker, you will be an integral part of our farming operations. You will be responsible for various tasks involved in the cultivation and harvesting of mushrooms. This includes preparing growing beds, planting mushrooms, monitoring growing conditions, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and harvesting crops when they are ready.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare growing beds by mixing and sterilizing substrates
- Plant mushroom spawn according to established procedures
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and ventilation to ensure optimal growing conditions
- Inspect crops regularly for signs of diseases or pests
- Apply appropriate measures to control diseases or pests if necessary
- Harvest mushrooms at the right maturity stage by carefully cutting them from the substrate
- Pack harvested mushrooms into crates or containers for transportation
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in work areas
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
- No prior experience is required; training will be provided
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays if needed
- Valid work permit or eligibility for Visa Sponsorship in Canada (for eligible candidates)
