Job Overview
- Tending to bee colonies: monitor health, feed, treat for diseases, and split hives when necessary.
- Assist in honey extraction processes ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Maintain and repair apiary equipment as required.
- Harvest and package honey and related products for sale.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Job Responsibility
- Regularly inspect bees and hives for diseases or pests.
- Operate farm machinery and equipment.
- Assist in the breeding of queen bees.
- Report and document any irregularities in bee activity or hive conditions.
- Work closely with the farm manager to implement pest management and disease prevention strategies.
Job Requirements
- No formal education is required; however, previous farm or apiary experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Physically able to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
