Hilton Canada is seeking professional, vigilant, and guest-oriented Security Guards to join our safety and security teams across our portfolio of hotels and resorts. As a Security Guard at Hilton, you are a protector of people and property, a calming presence during emergencies, and an ambassador of Hilton’s commitment to hospitality even in challenging situations.

In this role, you will patrol hotel premises, monitor surveillance systems, control access points, respond to incidents, and ensure the safety of guests, team members, and visitors. You will work closely with front desk staff, engineering, housekeeping, and management to maintain a secure environment that allows everyone to enjoy their Hilton experience with peace of mind. Whether you are conducting overnight patrols at a downtown Toronto Hilton, monitoring CCTV at the Niagara Falls Fallsview property, or managing access control at a Vancouver airport hotel, your role is essential to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Patrol & Surveillance

• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of hotel interior areas, exterior grounds, parking facilities, and perimeter boundaries
• Monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and alarm panels to detect suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, and access points to ensure they are properly secured
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency exits, sprinkler systems, and other safety equipment for compliance and functionality
• Maintain detailed logs of patrol activities, observations, and incidents using electronic reporting systems

Access Control & Guest Safety

• Verify identification and authorize entry for guests, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel
• Issue and collect temporary access credentials, visitor badges, and parking permits
• Escort guests and team members to their vehicles or rooms upon request, particularly during late-night hours
• Respond to guest concerns regarding noise complaints, suspicious persons, or safety issues with professionalism and discretion
• Enforce hotel policies regarding after-hours access, pool hours, and other property regulations

Incident Response & Emergency Management

• Respond promptly to security incidents, medical emergencies, fire alarms, and other critical situations
• Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, maintaining current certification at all times
• Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services when external assistance is required
• Investigate thefts, disturbances, accidents, and policy violations, gathering evidence and witness statements
• Complete detailed incident reports documenting circumstances, actions taken, and outcomes for management review

Loss Prevention & Asset Protection

• Monitor hotel inventory, equipment, and supplies to prevent theft, damage, or unauthorized removal
• Conduct bag checks and parcel inspections at designated checkpoints when required by policy
• Assist in investigations of internal and external theft, working with management and law enforcement as appropriate
• Implement crowd control measures during special events, high-occupancy periods, and emergency evacuations
• Protect hotel revenue by safeguarding cash handling areas, safes, and financial documentation

Customer Service & Hospitality

• Greet guests warmly and provide directions, information, and assistance with luggage or vehicles when needed
• Handle guest complaints and concerns with patience, empathy, and effective problem-solving skills
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects Hilton’s brand standards at all times
• Collaborate with front desk, concierge, and valet teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness when interacting with international guests and diverse team members

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid provincial security guard license — Ontario Security License, British Columbia Security Worker License, Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act license, or equivalent for your province
• First Aid and CPR certification (current and valid)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid work authorization for Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ months of security experience in hospitality, corporate, retail, or event settings
• Previous experience in a hotel or resort environment
• Additional certifications such as Use of Force, Management of Resistant Behaviour, or Handcuff Application
• Knowledge of CCTV operation and electronic access control systems
• Experience with incident reporting software and digital patrol systems
• Background in law enforcement, military, or private security is highly valued
