Job Description

Huronway Farms is seeking 3 experienced Supervisors, Hog Farm Workers to lead our swine production teams in Walton, Ontario. These are full-time permanent positions offering a competitive wage range of $19.00 to $32.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for advancement within our growing agricultural enterprise.

As a Supervisor, Hog Farm Workers, you will be responsible for coordinating, assigning, and supervising the daily work of specialized livestock workers and livestock labourers across our hog and grain operations. You will oversee breeding and farrowing programs, monitor animal health and welfare, ensure compliance with farm safety and bio-security protocols, and maintain accurate production records. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on hog farming experience who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The successful candidates will work closely with farm management to implement production schedules, train new employees, maintain equipment, and uphold the high standards of quality that Huronway Farms is known for in the Ontario pork industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of specialized livestock workers, farm machinery operators, and livestock labourers across hog and grain operations
  • Supervise and oversee breeding, gestation, farrowing, and weaning programs to optimize piglet production and sow health
  • Supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain animal health, welfare, and bio-security standards at all times
  • Develop and implement work schedules and establish operational procedures to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure farm safety, food safety, security, and bio-security procedures are strictly followed by all team members
  • Train new workers on proper swine handling techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols
  • Monitor inventory levels of feed, medications, supplies, and equipment; coordinate reordering as needed
  • Maintain accurate quality control records, production logs, breeding records, and daily progress reports
  • Work with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other industry professionals to optimize herd health and production

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in hog farm operations, livestock supervision, or agricultural leadership roles
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate the work of multiple employees in a barn or farm setting
  • Fluent English communication skills (oral and written) for instructions, safety briefings, record keeping, and professional interaction
  • Physical ability to work in barn environments and perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
