General Farm Worker Jobs in Canada
Job Description
M&J McElhone Farming Inc. is seeking hardworking and dependable General Farm Workers to support daily agricultural operations in La Salette, Ontario. This role involves a variety of hands-on farm tasks related to crop production and general farm maintenance in a safe and team-oriented environment.
The position is open to Canadian residents and foreign workers who are legally eligible to work in Canada. Employer assistance with a work permit or LMIA may be considered for qualified foreign applicants, subject to Canadian immigration laws and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, growing, and harvesting crops
- Perform general farm labor and field work
- Operate basic farm tools and machinery safely
- Sort, grade, and package agricultural products
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
- Follow farm safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to perform physical work for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Basic understanding of workplace safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous farm or agricultural experience is an asset but not required
- Basic English communication skills preferred
Salary
- Hourly wage: CAD $16.55 – $19.50 per hour
(Wages may vary depending on experience, job duties, and Ontario employment standards)
