I have over 7 years of experience in operations, administration, supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory, and facilities management. My background includes working with Private, International Non-governmental Organizations (INGOs), and international civil society organizations such as the United Nations.
I am well-versed in business support policies and have a strong track record of coordinating, implementing, supervising, and managing various aspects of administration among different stakeholders. Additionally, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience in logistics, warehouse, asset, and facilities management through my involvement in the Strengthening Humanitarian Response Sustainability in Nigeria (SURE-SN) project.
In my roles, I have successfully managed Sustainable logistics, warehouse, and facilities management in Integrated Humanitarian Assistance for Northeastern Nigeria through Logistics pipeline tracking, order request, custom clearance, inventory optimization, distribution network design, load optimization and goods in transit tracking. Manage organization asset records, including tagging and updating the register, as well as identifying and removing obsolete or damaged assets. I have conducted regular spot checks and facilitated the movement of assets using proper procedures. Moreover, I have handled commercial and UNHAS flight bookings, review travel authorization, security clearance of colleagues and accommodation reservations for guest, most who are Humanitarian workers with the United Nations, Diplomats, International and National Non-Governmental Organization, using the Humanitarian booking platform for Hubs in Northeast (BAY) states and UNDSS approved hotels well as overseeing the management of transport and fleet operations, ensured efficient allocation of vehicles and prepared monthly reports on fuel usage, mileage, and spare expenditures for analysis and improvement.
My experience also extends to warehouse management, where I have collaborated with logistics clusters to assess safety compliance, handle commodity requisitions, analyze damages and wastage, and conduct physical counts of inventory. I have been responsible for coordinating energy management, including the offloading and tracking of fuel quantities, and raising procurement requisitions as needed. Additionally, I have ensured the implementation of policies, procedures, and regulations related to field activities in coordination with the field coordinator.
Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered positive results, demonstrating proactiveness, attention to detail, and timely task completion. I prioritize providing high-quality services that align with organizational standards. My masters degree exposed me to Natural resources and Environmental management, Green Entrepreneur, Health Safety, Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Biology, Fundamentals of Geographic Information System (GIS), Sustainable Development: Concepts, Principles, Practice, Disaster Risk Management, Impact Assessment, Coastal Zone Management and Climate Change, Ecosystem and Natural Resources Management, Biodiversity and Contemporary issues. This has propelled and built me knowledgeably towards accepting task globally for a sustainable impact and results.
This exposed me to Animal and Aquatic production, Agricultural Economics, Environmental toxicology, Soil and Crop science, Integrated farming, Agricultural Engineering (Farming machineries) and hands-on trainings through Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) for all round food production: be it commercial, subsistence, extensive, intensive etc.
Experience
Working as part of responders to humanitarian crises through provision of efficient logistical services and operating warehouse containing a wide variety of medical, NFI’s, WASH, consumables, for the Strengthening Humanitarian Response Sustainability in Nigeria (SURE-SN) particularly in the Northeastern (BAY) states.
Asset management (Manage the organization asset records, tag, and update the register with procured assets and assign appropriately, un-tag obsolete and damaged assets from the register when approved, carry out quarterly asset spot check at the facilities and manage movement of assets using form).
Fleet and Transport (Oversee the management of transport/fleet for the projects, ensure that vehicles are allocated to program/departments in an efficient manner and in coordination with Program teams and Field Coordinator. Prepare monthly reports of Fuel Usage, covered mileage, and Spares expenditures by vehicles for review, general reporting, and analysis for continuous improvement of drivers work.
Warehouse management (Collaborate with logistics cluster on the need assessment for safety compliance in receiving commodities and requisition issuance for Health, GBV, WASH, Protection, NFI’s activities, analyses damage, wastage for proper solutions, and take physical count of commodities and ensure it tally with bin card report in accordance with warehouse policies and manage project assets).
Energy management (Coordinate offloading of 33,000 to 45,000 liters of PMS, AGO for mechanical devices utilization. Accurately take in dispenser pump readings, update the fuel logbook, and determine quantity through dipping and raise a requisition DPA to procurement for replenishment when need arises.
Ensure that policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to field activities are executed in close collaboration with field coordinator (stock keeping, storage condition, security, receive orders and dispatches requisitions to field offices.
Coordination and external representation - Support the humanitarian logistics cluster team in receiving and releasing of goods, team building, performance appraisal, training need assessment, and maintain inter-team and inter organizational communication.
Business Support – Manage the communication and information flow of the Response Coordinators (RC) office, external counterparts, manage and coordinates RC’s diary, calendars, and schedules, organize regular and ad-hoc management staff meetings, circulate agendas, take down minutes, summarizes action to be taken, screen incoming call, file outgoing correspondence for signature, manage events and maintain safekeeping of files.
Clerical support – Prepare documents and presentations, including correspondence, briefs and reports, research and collate materials to meet the response coordinators needs for official meetings, proofread correspondence, and distribute memo from the office.
Working as part business support assistant in busy International Organization for Migration (UN-IOM) warehouse in Northeastern (Borno | Adamawa | Yobe) state under the guidance and supervision of the manager and supervisor. Involved in moving stock around manually, goods inspection, bin card updates and carrying out orders effectively.
Supported the development and implementation of IOM activities in the warehouse while ensuring a coordinated approach on receiving and dispatching goods in a wider program that complies with the organization standards and procedures.
Performed daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of goods received, dispatched, and handled while ensuring they are well compiled, stacked and labelled.
Managed and monitored workflow measures for food and non-food commodities. Ensure quality control and compliance using standard preventive measures in line with IOM established procedures and authorization received from the manager/supervisor.
