I have working since I was in College not only to support my studies and help my parents but to gain more experiences in the field of Sales. Two weeks after graduation in college, I went to the city to look for a job and luckily, I was able to get a professional job which is Sales Executive until I became a Regional Sales Manager for 10 years before I took my early retirement in 2021 to manage our own business ( Travel Agency ).
Education
Major in Marketing but generally, the course had an exposure to Sales operation as part of the curriculum.
Experience
• Promote and market the business
• Manage budgets and maintain financial records
• Sell travel products and tour packages
• Source products and destinations to meet consumer demands for
bespoke travel and sustainable tourism
• Take part in familiarization visits to new destinations, to gather
information on issues and amenities of interest to consumers
• Liaise with travel partners, including airlines and hotels, to manage
bookings and schedules
• Deal with customer enquiries and aim to meet their expectations
• Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives by
recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling,
coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned
territory; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring,
enforcing policies and procedures.
• Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing
regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans
and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing
production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
resolving problems, identifying trends; determining regional sales
system improvements.
• Develop a sales strategy to achieve organizational sales goals and
revenues and oversee the activities and performance of the sales
team.
• Investigate lost biddings and customer accounts
• Attend trade meetings and industry conventions ( SMX Suppliers’
Show and Travel Trade )
• Conduct market research and customer analysis and analyze data to
identify sales opportunities
• Recommends product lines by identifying new product
opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes;
surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
• Ensure sales team has the necessary resources to perform properly.
• Monitor the achievement of sales objectives by the sales team
• Plan and direct sales team training through Sales Seminar or
localized training and assist with the development of sales
presentations and proposals
• Control expenses and monitor budgets by directing the Sales team to
maximize their daily routes and by staying in a less cost hotels
during their provincial trips.
• Achievement of agreed sales target/objectives for the defined
territory/accounts, which are set by the management.
• Analyze inventory before going on sales calls.
• Service clients through constant follow ups and checking on our
quality control.
• Identify and resolve client concerns immediately.
• Sending price quotations within 1 day of the clients’ request.
• Monitor own Sales performance ( Month To Date / Year To Date )
• Provide information about the activity or movement of your
competitor in your area and analyze new trends/products being
introduced in the industry.
• Plan itinerary a week ahead
• Update Customer Information Forms
• Prepare a request for expenses for a provincial trips, two weeks
before the scheduled departure.
• Liquidating expenses, 24 hours after every trip.
• Represent the company with a clean and presentable price list,
samples, calling cards, brochures as well as a tape measure and
calculator.
• Prepare for sales meetings by providing relevant reports such as
sales updates, area analysis and other necessary information.
