Experience
Ajaokuta Kaduna Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline and Station Project - Duties and Accomplishments:
• Collaborate and coordinate with the Discipline Leads, EPC Contractors, Subcontractors and Clients to develop project design deliverables based on concepts, project objectives and requirements such that all design work comply with the applicable industry and company codes and standards;
• Coordinate with Community Liaison Officers, survey and HSE teams to identify and outline all applicable regulatory, land, and environmental applications related to the proposed 40” AKK gas pipeline construction;
• Prepare scope of work for outsourced scopes associated with Pipeline Projects, support preparation and review of bids, support supervision of on-site survey work;
• Collaborate with other disciplines (piping, process, etc.) to progress engineering design activities during Concept Selection, FEED, and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) phases and deliver execution-ready projects;
• Experienced in the use of applicable codes, regulations, and standards such as EN, API, ASME, DNV/DNVGL, MSS-SP, ISO, etc. to design pipelines, prepare equipment datasheets and specification, study reports, etc.;
• Certify and/or support the approval of deliverables at IDC, IFR, IFA, IFC, and AFC stages following proper engineering design and reviews;
• Prepare Request for Quotation for various project materials/equipment; review and evaluate technical bid documentation from material/equipment vendors;
• Populate responses to client’s comments, develop and/or respond to RFIs, TQs and follow up to close out discrepancies as applicable;
• Act as a resource person during project milestone design reviews, HAZOP, Risk assessment and constructability reviews and ensure update of the design with collated comments and approved changes;
• Supervise junior engineers’ and designers’ work, assist in providing monthly progress and performance write-ups that inputs into the progress reports;
• Review and validate survey data, share same together with other relevant pipeline design data for the preparation of pipeline alignment sheets, HDD crossing details, crossing details for river, road, and railroad, etc.;
• Play project engineering role on outsourced related pipeline engineering scope such as geotechnical and geophysical survey, Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP), etc.
• Perform supervision and review of pipeline engineering deliverables and other submissions issued by engineering contractors, vendors, and subordinates in compliance with project requirements, industry codes and standards;
• Develop, review and update Calculation notes and reports for pipeline wall thickness, end expansion, anti-buoyancy, stability and concrete weight coating, lateral and upheaval buckling, pipe stacking, pipeline crossings;
• Develop Pipeline System models using AutoPIPE software tool, analyse the stresses and develop pipeline stress analysis report at Zaria Pigging Station (PS);
• Develop calculation notes and reports for HDD Pipeline Stress Analysis Stress Analysis;
• Compilation and preparation of 40”x 322 km AKK Gas Pipeline crossing list and Tie-in List (Segment 2);
• Modification of the HDD Crossing Details and update of Stress Analysis for Pipeline Crossing via HDD,
• Develop material requisition for carrier casing pipe, material requisition for Close Crossing Bulk Materials; Bore Casing Pipe, Cathodic Protection, HV AC mitigation materials, etc.;
• Develop datasheets and specifications for line pipes and for pipeline fittings such as Induction Bends, Isolating Joints, Barred Tees, field Joint Coating, Corrosion Coating, Carrier Casing Line Pipes, etc.;
• Act as a resource person during Pipeline Route Optimization, and develop design reports for Pipeline Routing, Pipeline Station Location Selection, Pipeline Rerouting Proposal;
• Develop specification for construction work such as for Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Welding & NDT, HDD construction, Auger Boring/Thrust, Concrete Coating of Pipes;
• Review and comment on pipeline drawings such as alignment sheets, typical details for minor/major road/ railway crossings, pipeline approach details, HDD River Crossing Details; field coating details, etc. and support their approval.
HA Development Project (Pre-FEED) - Duties and Accomplishments:
• Developed Offshore Tie-in Philosophy, Preliminary Pipeline Constructability Report, Preliminary Riser (Dynamic) Type selection study (SCR, Flexible, etc.), Preliminary Pipeline & Riser Design Philosophy, Riser/Umbilical Pull-in Design Philosophy;
• Inputted into Bid preparation for award of the FEED phase of the project, developed Master Document Register (MDR) with estimated man-hours.
Alternative Crude Oil Export Pipeline System Project - Duties and Accomplishments:
• Develop datasheets for Misalignment Ball Joint, Isolating Joints, Barred Tees;
• Develop design reports such as Pipeline Crossing Study Report, Pipeline Mechanical Design Report;
• Develop Specification for Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Tie-in, Pipeline Testing and Pre-commissioning philosophy;
• Carry out Pipeline End Expansion Analysis (MathCAD), Pipeline Stress Analysis (AutoPIPE), Pipeline Buckling Analysis (SESAME SimBuck per DNVGL-RP-F110);
• Carry our review and comment on Pipeline Scope Schematics, Alignment Sheets, Approach Details; Induction Bend Details, Typical General Warning Signs, Elastic Bend Configuration Details, Typical Open Cut for Creek Crossing Details, Pipeline Field Joint Coatings Details, Overall Route Map.
