Cargojet Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to joint our dynamic team. As a Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance across our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading air cargo company in Canada, with the added benefit of visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s safety management system (SMS) to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks
- Conduct thorough safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify and address safety issues
- Provide training and guidance to all employees on safety policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a strong safety culture and promote safety awareness throughout the organization
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and records, and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory authorities
- Represent the company in safety-related meetings and discussions with industry stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest safety trends, technologies, and best practices, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager or in a comparable safety-focused role, preferably in the aviation or transportation industry
- Thorough understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment, and safety data analysis
- Strong working knowledge of relevant aviation safety regulations and industry standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels
- Proficient in the use of safety management software and data analysis tools
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation, safety management, or a related field
- Ability to obtain a Canadian work permit or permanent residency
