The Role:
As a Poultry Farmer at Agrium Inc., you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of our poultry operations. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the daily care and welfare of our poultry flock, ensuring there optimal health and productivity
- Implementing effective feeding, housing, and biosecurity protocols to maintain high standards of food safety and quality
- Monitoring and recording key performance indicators to optimize production efficiency
- Collaborating with the veterinary team to develop and execute comprehensive health and wellness programs
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise, while continuously seeking ways to improve operations
- Mentoring and training junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and development
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial poultry farming
- Demonstrated expertise in poultry health, nutrition, and welfare management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the broader team
- A passion for sustainable agriculture and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work flexible hours as needed
