Cargojet Inc., a leading air cargo carrier in Canada, is seeking an experienced Flight Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of our aircraft fleet, ensuring the highest standards of regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the flight department, including scheduling, dispatch, and oversight of flight crews
- Ensure all flight operations adhere to Transport Canada regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to optimize aircraft utilization and minimize operational disruptions
- Analyze flight data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the flight operations team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous learning
- Serve as a key liaison between the flight operations department and other functional areas, such as customer service and business development
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive the company’s growth and operational excellence
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar flight operations management role, preferably in the air cargo or commercial aviation industry
- Thorough understanding of Transport Canada regulations and industry best practices related to flight operations
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and risk-management skills
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams
- Proficient in data analysis and the use of aviation-specific software and systems
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Valid Transport Canada commercial pilot license and/or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (preferred)
