Just Bees(2008) Inc., a leading beekeeping company in Canada, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apiary Technician to joint our team. As an Apiary Technician, you will play a crucial role in the management and care of our honeybee colonies while ensuring there health and productivity. We are also offering visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the apiary, including hive inspections, feeding, and maintenance
2. Monitor and assess the health of honeybee colonies for signs of disease or pests
3. Implement appropriate pest management strategies to maintain colony health
4. Participate in queen-rearing activities, including grafting and introducing new queens to hives
5. Harvest honey and other hive products while adhering to quality standards
6. Provide support during pollination services, including hive transportation and setup
7. Maintain accurate records of hive inspections, treatments, and other important data
8. Assist with the training of seasonal workers or beekeeping apprentices
9. Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in beekeeping techniques
10. Adhere to safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Prior experience working with honeybees or in a similar agricultural setting is preferred
• A genuine passion for beekeeping and a strong interest in sustainable agriculture
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds)
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between apiary locations
• Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates
