Job Description:

Agrium Inc., a leading global producer and distributor of agricultural products, is seeking passionate and skilled Animal Breeders to joint our team in Canada. Responsibilities:

1. Manage the breeding programs for our livestock, including cattle, sheep, and poultry
2. Carefully select and pair breeding stock to optimize genetic traits and improve herd/flock performance
3. Monitor the health and well-being of all animals, providing necessary care and treatment
4. Maintain detailed records of breeding, birthing, and animal performance data
5. Collaborate with veterinarians to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare
6. Implement innovative breeding techniques and technologies to drive continuous improvement
7. Train and supervise a team of animal care specialists

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in animal breeding and husbandry
• Strong technical knowledge of animal genetics, reproductive physiology, and herd/flock management
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and record-keeping
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices
• Willingness to relocate to Canada and obtain the necessary work visa
