Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and seat guests, providing menus and explaining daily specials and promotions.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them efficiently into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Ensure thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and address any concerns promptly.
• Process payments accurately and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service station at all times.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure seamless service.
• Assist with banquet and event service as needed, including setup and breakdown.
• Uphold Hilton’s brand standards and values in every guest interaction.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a food service or hospitality role (preferred but not mandatory for entry-level).
• Valid Smart Serve certification (or provincial equivalent for alcohol service).
• Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and payment processing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset, particularly for Quebec locations.
